If you live in Lilburn and you’re searching for a personal trainer, you’ve probably noticed two kinds of options: big gyms where you’re mostly on your own, and expensive one-off sessions that don’t come with much of a plan. Ferris Fitness sits in between. We’re a private, semi-private training studio in Duluth, a short drive north of Lilburn, and our whole model is built around structure, coaching, and accountability.
To be clear up front: we don’t have a Lilburn location. Our one and only gym is at 3064 Old Norcross Rd, Suite 100, Duluth, GA 30096. It’s an easy drive from much of Gwinnett County. Below is what to look for in personal training near Lilburn, GA, how we approach it, and how to try a class for free.
5 Questions to Ask Any Personal Trainer Near Lilburn
Whether you end up with us or somewhere else, these questions will tell you a lot about whether a program will actually stick.
- Is the program written for me, or is it the same workout for everyone? A good coach programs around your goals, your experience, and any limitations you bring in.
- How many people are in a session? The answer tells you how much coaching attention you’ll really get.
- What happens with nutrition? Training matters, but most people who’ve struggled to see results need help with food, too.
- How do you track progress beyond the scale? The scale can stall even while your body is changing, which is where a lot of people get discouraged and quit.
- What happens between sessions? Three hours a week in the gym is a small slice of your week. Accountability on the other days is often what makes the difference.
How Ferris Fitness Answers Those Questions
Every in-gym membership is built on three pillars: fitness, nutrition, and accountability. Here’s what that looks like in practice.
- Your own program. Our coaches write a custom program for you. You train three coached workouts a week, and your plan adjusts as you get stronger.
- Small sessions, capped at 6. Semi-private training means a coach is on the floor with you the whole time, correcting form and keeping you moving.
- Nutrition built from your data. Your nutrition plan is built from a STYKU 3D body scan, so it’s based on your body instead of a generic meal plan.
- Weekly STYKU scans. Members scan every week, so you can see changes in body fat and lean muscle even when the scale is slow to move.
- Daily accountability. Our Client Success Director checks in with you every day, so you’re never trying to stay on track alone.
If you’d rather have a coach’s undivided attention, 1-on-1 training is available too. Our post on semi-private vs. 1-on-1 personal training can help you decide which fits you better.

What a Typical Week Looks Like
For a busy professional, the best program is one you can follow on a real calendar. A typical week for a member looks something like this:
- Three coached sessions, scheduled on the days and times that fit your week.
- A daily check-in from our Client Success Director to see how you’re doing with food, sleep, and the plan.
- A weekly STYKU scan so you and your coach can see what’s changing and adjust.
Our hours are built around the workday: Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM (closed Sunday). Some members train early so the workout is done before the commute. Others stop in on the way home as a reset at the end of the day.
Especially for Women Who’ve Started Over Before
Many of the people we coach are women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s with demanding jobs, who have tried to get in shape more than once. If that’s you, nothing is wrong with your effort. What’s usually missing is a plan built for you and someone checking in when life gets busy.
One member described it this way in a Google review: “For the first time I feel like I can truly crush my fitness goals.” If you want to go deeper, read our guides to personal training for women and strength training for women over 40 and 50.
A Small, Welcoming Gym, Not a Crowded One
If walking onto a packed gym floor has ever made you want to turn around, you’ll notice the difference here. Ferris Fitness is a private facility with a small community. Coaches know every member’s program, and members get to know each other. The word that comes up again and again in our reviews is “family.” As one member put it, “I think I found my Gym family.”
