MEET CORY FERRIS
Musician turned trainer.
Founder of Ferris Fitness.
On a mission to help people take control of their health — because he knows what it feels like to lose it.
My
Story
I grew up active — baseball, skateboarding, just being a kid. In high school I started playing music, and in my early 20s I signed a record deal with my band, Woe Is Me. We spent 9-10 months a year touring the world. Somewhere along the way, I traded activity for fast food, late nights, and unhealthy habits.
One day I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the person staring back. I was tired. I was unhappy. Simple things like walking up stairs had become hard. That was my turning point.
I started training. I started eating right. Everything changed — my energy, my mindset, my life. In 2019, I went back to school at the National Academy of Sports Medicine. When COVID hit and I lost my job, I started offering free training to anyone who was struggling. It was a dark time for a lot of people, and I knew fitness could help.
In January 2021, Ferris Fitness was born. What started as a way to help a few people has grown into a fully private training facility in Duluth, GA — and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Why I do This
I’ve seen what happens when people stop taking care of themselves. I lived it. The low energy, the frustration, the feeling like you’ve lost control of your own body.
I’ve also seen what happens when someone decides to take it back. That moment when the work starts clicking, the confidence comes back, and they realize they’re capable of more than they thought.
That’s why Ferris Fitness exists. Every member gets a custom program, structured nutrition, and someone in their corner every single week. Not because it’s a nice selling point – because it’s the only way that actually works.
